Garment (Wai Yi) II

It evokes the image of a figure draped in layered, weathered textures. The vessel features a dramatic, bifurcated aesthetic: the upper portion is finished in a deep, atmospheric charcoal and scorched earth tone, suggesting the raw remnants of fire and time. This dark, textured "outer shell" cascades into precisely structured, rhythmic pleats that reveal a pristine, stark white foundation beneath.

Product Details

The juxtaposition of the charred, organic exterior against the clean, sharp folds of the interior creates a powerful visual narrative of hidden purity and revealed structure. Topped with a minimalist, iconic finial, this piece serves as a sophisticated focal point, perfect for a modern space that values both heritage craftsmanship and avant-garde design.  Artistry by ceramic master Runhui Xu.

This piece is shaped using hand-throwing techniques. After the clay body is crafted, it is glazed with high-temperature colored glazes and finally fired in a 1,300-degree Celsius reduction flame. After smoke-firing, plaster is applied to the cracks on the vessel body, creating the effect of museum-restored artifacts.
