Vertical black-glaze ceramic stele.
Product Details
This evocative vessel masterfully captures the essence of weathered, organic elegance. The form is defined by its deep, darkened finish, reminiscent of scorched earth and time-worn textures that create a sense of grounded, ancient history. Delicate, draping folds wrap around the body of the piece, mimicking the fluid movement of fabric and adding a soft, tactile dimension to its sturdy, structured silhouette. At the base, a striking contrast is revealed—a pristine, stark white foundation that emerges from beneath the dark, textured exterior, symbolizing the beauty of hidden purity. Capped with a subtle, minimalist lid, this vessel serves as a sophisticated conversation piece, perfectly suited for those who appreciate the delicate balance between rugged, elemental craftsmanship and refined, modern artistry. Featuring the work of master ceramicist Runhui Xu.
This piece is shaped using hand-throwing techniques. After the clay body is crafted, it is glazed with high-temperature colored glazes and finally fired in a 1,300-degree Celsius reduction flame. After smoke-firing, plaster is applied to the cracks on the vessel body, creating the effect of museum-restored artifacts.
