Loom & Mirage is guided by the vision of founder and creative director Jing Cao. Operating from the Washington, D.C. area, Cao bridges two seemingly distinct worlds: the rigorous discipline of quantitative finance—honed through a background in investment banking and corporate strategy, and an unwavering reverence for rare artisanal heritage.
This dual perspective shapes the soul of the atelier. Rather than treating fashion as a fast-paced cycle of consumption, Cao approaches luxury through the lens of slow craftsmanship, structural precision, and mindfulness. Under her direction, the atelier curates and revives endangered intangible cultural heritage techniques—such as intricate silk velvet flower craft, botanical plant-based silk dyeing, and hand-embroidery—integrating them seamlessly with cutting-edge digital atelier experiences to create an interactive, meditative sanctuary for self-expression.
